Knee Surgery

Post a new topicby Dawn777 on Fri Sep 25, 2009 4:09 am

Hi I'm going in for Knee Surgery on Oct 1st and I have a concern I'm 30 yrs old and my veins are deep and at times I'm a hard stick for an IV and I'm worried about they might cancel my surgery because they can't get an IV in place and I was wondering if I should tell the nurse so maybe they could set it up for me to come in early if needed so I don't take up the OR too long because the nurses are having a problem getting an IV in . Should I ask for the Anesthesiologist to get the IV in or let the nurse try for it ? My problem is if they can't get an IV would they still put me under and try for it again by the OR team ? any help would be greatly needed in this matter ASAP thanks .
