This article is right on. I am 42 years old, started out with a small gut ache on a Sunday afternoon (Jan. 27th.2008 around noon time) Wound up in the ER room by 5pm same day. The gut ache had gone from behind my belly button to the lower right adominal area. I received an IV and pain medicine. I had a pain level of 6+. The staff took blood and xrays and were going to send me home with pain meds. My sister's advice earlier in the day was, HAVE all the TESTS done that they can do. The doctor said within the same breath as we are going to send you home, "we could do a CT SCAN." Guess what folks, it was an appendicitis. By now it is 10pm and my temp. went from normal to 100.7 and they were calling the surgeon I had the NON complicated appendectomy, thank goodness. Doing great!
