Breast cancer at 37

I was diagnosed with DCIS days before my 37th birthday. I was in shock and was fearful of that word cancer. Once I became educated on breast cancer I felt more reassurance that I could beat this disease.
What I couldn’t understand is why I got breast cancer I work out 6 days/week and eat well. I thought for sure that I would test positive for the BRCA 1-2 gene, but I didn’t.
