I am a 58 yr old female, had many diverticulitus episodes for 18 months and since I am the sole caregiver for my husband (in very poor health) I decided to have surgery rather than risk perferation. Surgery went ok, could not be done lap method because of a hernia (which the surgeon repaired) but was up and walking the next day. Went home on 5th day.
