I was just 31 years oldHello, My name is Lyndsey and a mother of 2 young children. I just had a laproscopic bowel resection 4 weeks ago for diverticulitis x 4 within 2 months of each other. I was treated with antibiotics and I just kept getting sicker. I’m feeling better but, still have pain and rectal bleeding. I just want life to get back to normal. I wish everyone out there “good luck”!

Re: I was just 31 years oldHi Lindsy, I am going to have the surgery soon. I was due to have serious neck surgery with hardware insertion and fusion in May. I wound up with two attacks of diverticulitis that are not resolving. I had had another attack years before. Did you have a colonoscopy a day or two before. Now, I had to postpone the neck surgery till after the colon surgery. I hope I don't need the open surgery. How are you feeling now? Did you need help when you came home? Thanks. Mary Anne (Ozzie and Harriett are my two dogs).
Re: I was just 31 years oldI too am thirty one years old. My first attack began when I was twenty one years old. It also runs in my family. My mom and her sister have had the same issue a few years ago. I waited in order to get the surgery and the bowel perforated. I recently had my second surgery in order to reverse the colostomy. It has been a struggle day to day, but day to day it seems to be getting better. Good luck to you Lindsy.
Re: I was just 31 years oldHi
I am 35 with two young children and I have a consultation coming up with a colorectal surgeon. I will have a procedure that could end in a colonoscopy or a colon resection depending on how the procedure goes. They won't decide until they are "in". I would have never thought I would be dealing with something like this at so young an age.
