Left Colectomy Surgery DiaryI am a 45 year old female… I have hereditary diverticular disease that has claimed the lives of several of my family members.
I was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 35, but know that I have suffered from this disease for far longer. I can remember having an attack at the age of 21 when I was in college. I had emergency surgery on my colon five weeks ago, not laparoscopic needless to say, as my colon was full of its usual contents at the time, but your postsurgical experience was very similar to mine. I hope you're doing better every day. It helps to know that other people are going through the same trials and tribulations.
