My experience with open bowel resection

I went to our local hospital in June 2008 for a routine colonoscopy. My GP recommended the procedure because I have a family history of colorectal cancer and a personal history of colon polyps. (My mother was diagnosed and operated on for colorectal cancer in 2004, and one of my aunts (her sister) died of it in 1995.
