Colon Resection

I had my colon resectioned (open surgery) in late June of 2007 due to diverticular disease Now, less than 6 months later, I am having significant pain in my lower left abdominal area again.
My surgeon told me that it is rare to have the disease recur. I’m scared to death that I am in the small percentile of folks who do have a recurrence.
