colon resection & hysterectomy

Extremely scared. Two years of going from doc to doc, finally found one to listen. Colonoscopy & Cat
scan show iud imbedded in colon and perforating uterus. Anyone ever had surgery for this? I feel O.K. right now. Surgeon says it can get bad again at any time.

I had the surgery in May, my colon was actually fused to my uterus because of diverticulitus. I ended up with a temporary colostomy and will have it reversed in Sept. I'm glad I had the surgery, I haven't felt this good in years. No pain, I've got my energy back and I feel like doing things. I was lucky they were scheduling me for a hysterectomy and thought heck, why not just go for it and have that colonoscopy well that's when the problems were found, if I would of gotten into surgery and not had the Gynnie and the Surgeon there, who knows what would of happened.
The only problem I've had is one very small section of my incision is still not healed and the doctor wants to cut it open so I can pack it easier, I'm holding off because of the surgery next month, at this late date why go thru extra pain. Good luck I hope all turns out well for you
