far post surgery possible complications?I had my colon resectioning done in March of this year. Removed about 2ft of large intestine and half of seigmoid colon. Everything has been wonderful since then, but now am experiencing what feels like diverticulitis symptoms. Also had a hysterectomy in June removing everything but four inch stem of cervix and right ovary. At the time of that surgery, there were several adhesions from the 1st surgery which had to be cleaned.
Have felt wonderful until now. More active, more energy, better sleep, good bowel regulation, everything. Now I started experiencing pain on my right side for 5 days, similar to diverticulitis pain. Now its on the left side and worse, seeming to encompass a larger, more extended area. Am scheduled for a re-check colonsocopy next week. One question, is it safe to wait that long. Anyone else had any similar experiences? constipation has been a problem this week also.
Re: far post surgery possible complications?I believe as long as you do not have a fever and you are not vomiting you can wait until your appointment, but if you have a fever or are vomiting go to the emergency room. If I were you I would want a MRI or a Cat scan to check my appendix and gall bladder too. Good Luck!
