I had the colon resection due to diverticular disease on Sept. 24. It has now been 3 weeks. I am going to the bathroom several times a day. I have the urge to go so bad and when I get there only a 1 or 2 very small pellets come out. It is also very painful. The first week it was not painful only the urgency was very strong and then nothing would happen. I have put a call in to my DR. but the nurse has yet to return my call. I typed in complications of colon resection on the computer and found this group. I see some letters with similar symptoms. I was told to stay on low residue and low fiber until I see the DR on Oct 28. The only pain I have is very small nothing to complain about.
