I had an abscess in June of 2006 that was so painful the doctor put me under anesthetic to drain it and he also put a plastic ring to keep the drain hole open. I wore that ring for about a month. I had two fistulotomy surgeries in a 12 week period. That was year ago last week. I posted my story in the August 08 section. It definitly took a while to heal. My doctor told me 8 to 10 weeks. It was more like 8 months. Be sure to keep it clean. Very clean... All the time. No matter what. I feel that it has healed. I still soak in the tub every other day. I clean myself everytime I go #2. Also, I still get stained under pants because the muscle was compromised. My dr. Said that was very normal in every fistulotomy.
I hope this was informative for you. Also, you should start experiencing some serious gas. Go out in a group so you can blame someone else.
Good luck. I'm happy to answer any of your questions.
