A daughter’s loveMy mother is 69 years old july 20th. She had a tumor in the stomach and had to have her stomach completely removed. It has been one month and 2 weeks and she is now starting to eat food. I feel so weak that i can only look at her and say things are going to be alright, when i don’t know if they will. Re: A daughter’s loveMy mother also had a total gastrectomy in August. She has recovered really well and did not need to go into icu after the op.
She lost about 4lbs but has put it back on now (it's exactly 6 weeks since the operation). She's managing to eat pretty much anything, although berries have proved to be a no-no! She feels well, but her energy levels are low. She's pottering around the house and garden but has not ventured beyond so far and has not felt up to driving. Her biggest problem is that since her op, she has had numb fingers and this is restricting her quite a bit. I wonder does anyone else have experience of this post operatively??
