Recovering after HemorrhoidectomyIt has now been over three weeks since my operation, and I am still unable to sit, nor have a BM without being left soaking wet, crying and shaking - all due to the tremendious pain I go through with every movement. I am also discharching a lot of blood every time I go.
My wound is still swollen and every sensitive to touch, and it feels and looks like I have developed more Hemorrhoids. I have always suffered from irregular BM. I usually only go every few days and that was never a problem for ...Read the full article
Re: Recovering after HemorrhoidectomyI had my surgery April 16, 2007. After the surgery and doing more reseach I'm not sure I should have had the surgery. The pain was like yours, it was unbelievable. After 5 almost 6 week it got better. The pain medication was not good for the bowels nor for the stomach. I needed more then the stool softner. I'm still bleeding small amounts and I'm entering my fifth month. I will be going back to the doctor this week for that. I'm still tender after a bowel movement but nothing like the first 5-6 weeks. I can't imagine what it would be like to have hard bowels. I am taking Dr. Natura Colonix and it is WONDERFUL. I am also taking MonoLaruin made by Ecological Formulas a dietary supplement which should be at your health food store but you may have to get it on line it has helped with healing. If someone is thinking about the surgery please look into it a lot more then you have. I had a lot of pain before I had the surgery but I believe there was more that could have been done before the surgery. What ever you do change your diet work on that, drink water, water, water, water. Clean out your colon, check with your doctor, although I didn't, I knew it needed to be done and I research what I wanted in my body got the Colonix and it was GREAT. My health store provider turned me on to the Monolarin, I wish I would have done these things before surgery. They started with correcting a fissure and then the Hemorrhoidectomy. I now know it was not needed, but its to late and you have to deal with the other affects from the surgery. I'm not saying no surgery for anyone out there, but PLEASE do your home work. And please try cleaning your system try the MonoLarin. For those who have had the surgery hang in there and listen to your body and not just the doctor.
Re: Recovering after HemorrhoidectomyHello i am so sorry to hear you are still not well,it must be a terrible painful operation, and i am worried about it all.I am 60 yrs old and have a prolapse of the bowel and large haemorrhoids. My GP has wrote away to our local public health department requesting me to be seen by a surgeon. My GP has asked for them to perform a colonostopy first.I received a letter yesterday saying i am a level 2 and the waiting list for that category is 3 months.I have been getting some pain in my bottom every second or so day for the last 3 months. Now for some reason for the last 3 weeks i seem to be getting pain around my vulva area as well.I remember its a pain like the one us women get down below when we have our periods,i dont know what this new pain means, but i am seeing my GP again this tuesday.
I think i would feel a lot better, if i was going to have the operation from a surgeon of my own choice. One of the writers have said that you should have the operation done by a board certified colorectal surgeon, using a scalpel only.We dont have a lot of spare money and really cant afford the cost.My late father had this operation years ago by just his GP,and it was very successful, but of course that late GP, was really good with the knife. My husband is going to put in a bath tub for me,so thats really good, because everyone i talk to who has had this operation, says they have hot salt baths often. Do you do this as well.Any way best wishes to you, and every one else, from goldenoldie.
Re: Recovering after Stapled HemorrhoidectomyAnyone out there had this new procedure? I just did and the painless aspect of it was simply untrue. I'm in the fifth day of recovery and in pain, cant pass bms and havent eaten much. Ended up in the hospital for two days following the surgery. I need support. Will this end? My asss feel tight and wounded. I cant take it. I'm on percocet and know that constipates me but I need something for the pain. Taking Milk of Magnesium too. Help
