Discharge

Post a new topicby scotboy on Wed Oct 17, 2007 6:43 pm

hi from Scotland

Yes, we get piles here too, we like to call them Farmer Giles or Nobby Stiles (famous English soccer player). Anyway, I had haemorrhoidectomy 6 days ago which seemed to go OK - I can go to the toilet OK (it stings like hell after a BM but I assume that's just the stitches nipping). My question to anyone reading this is about discharge from my ass - when is it likely to stop? I'm wearing gauze pads in the crack of my ass and when I take them out they always have some pretty unpleasant red markings on them - I'm not actually bleeding but it looks kinda like wound discharge might, I suppose. Does this stop any time soon? I noticed a bit of an increase in the amount today - not masses but should I be worried? Any thoughts anyone has are appreciated. I'm hoping to go back to work soon but would quite like not to have to be wearing pads in my ass when I do.

Cheers
M

I had my operation a month ago. The discharge you describe lasted about 10 days. I still get a lillte bit occasionally.

Good luck

I had my operation 9 days ago and i am noticing a terrible smell when i have gas and also a discharge when i have the gas and the smell is like i had a bowel movement in my pants. It' disgusting. Also when i have a bowel movement in the am or anytime i do i feel so much pressure and i guess what i am wondering if all of this will stop at some time because i am afraid to go anywhere because of the smell and the chance of being out and passing gass!
