Does a colonoscopy show up hemroids

Post a new topicby goldenoldie47 on Fri Feb 22, 2008 11:22 pm

Recently i had a colonoscopy, the report said that nothing was found, and the surgeon thought my problem was related to a prolapse of the bowel.
My GP said he could see a hemroid and a slight prolapse, but he thought the hemroid was maybe to big for banding.
Any way while waiting for the public hospital to do any kind of surgery,i thought it might be a good idea to see a colerectol surgeon find out what kind of surgery is most successful for a prolapsed rectum, and the cost involved to have the op done privately.
Any way the colerectol surgeon, i saw in our closest city, told me i dont have a prolapsed rectum, but i have prolapsed hemroids,I replied with,i dont have hemroids, because the colonoscopy did not say i did,the colonrectal surgeon said a colonoscopy dont show up hemroids trust me.
Anyway he said that he will band them here and now.
So i had the banding done, had pain after wards and all the next day, until my bowels went late that afternoon, and then the pain gradually went away.
Any way since then i can feel a bulge coming out my anus, like as before i had the banding done, also i can feel with my finger just inside my anus, what seems like a rubber band.
So i wonder if the banding has failed.
Also i would like to know if anyone gets seepage of poo from having hemroids.
I would be glad for any advice.Regards from goldenoldie47.
