Hemorrhoidectomy

Hello everyone,
My wife had this operation on 6th Dec '07 and was dicharged the same day. Today she went to the toilet 4 times and has diarrhoea. It's very painful for her and she wants to know if this is common.
She is taking Metronidazole, Dicloflex, Lactulose solution and Iphaghula husk. She has stopped taking Co-Dydramol. This drug made her so nauseous that last Friday night I took her to our local A & E to receive an injection to relieve her sickness.
I suspect and hope that this is normal, but if anyone can put our minds at rest we would be grateful.

I had my surgery 7 weeks ago but never had diarrhoea. I'm not familiar with the medications she is on, maybe they are the cause. She is on a lot of medication, is it necessary?
