Hernia repair

Post a new topicby goochie2 on Sat Feb 06, 2010 5:38 pm

I had been reading about horror stories of hernia repair just prior to my surgery on 2-3-10 and it scared me to death, but I would like you all to know that my surgery has gone very well. I had 3 hernias that were patched with mesh and a stray lymph node removed that had come through with one of the hernias. I was in tolerable pain after the surgery and through the next three days was able to keep my pain under control with Norco, a Vicodine type of pain med, It is the third day after my surgery and I have not taken any pain meds since last night. I have just gotten back from a 3/4 mile walk and other than some incision and scrotal pain, that is very tolerable, I am doing very well. My surgeon was Dr Stiles in San Diego, CA. I hope this is an incouragement to others that the surgery can and usually does go well. I would think the surgeon has a lot to do with the success of the procedure.
