Inguinal Hernia

I am 56 years of age and I had a conventional inguinal Hernia operation on 17-12-2008 and was discharged the next day. I have pain and uneasiness at the local area and sometimes feel as if something is moving inside. How long does it take to become normal and also want to know when can I start having a normal sex life?
