I had my hysterecomy on march 10 and i am still in alot of pain, its actually worse. but my doctor gave me 3 refills of percocett but only 30 at a time and taking them every 4 hours 2 at a time did not last long. she says i should be feeling better. how can she say this if recovery time is 6 to 8 weeks then why should i feel better after a full abdomiall surery in 3 weeks. anybody have any commets about this??

I don't know the details of your surgery as far as reasons or the type of incision. However after 26 years performing gyn surgery I am amazed at how pain thresholds vary. Typically you should be able to get by with Motrin 400-600mg. every 4-6 hrs at this point, with an occasional Percocet such as at bedtime. A heating pad on your abdomen can help (on low heat). It is very important to keep your bowel movements regular by taking something such as Pericolace every day. If not regular this can slow your recovery period.
