My Nissen was the best thing that ever happened to me

Post a new topicby livingwith on Tue Oct 14, 2008 11:36 am

I am 24 years old and have had problems with reflux since age 9. My surgery was done August 11 so it’s been about 2 months. It was very tough at first and I couldn’t even eat yogurt…it had to be like stage 1 baby food. BUT, within a couple weeks I was eating more and more. Boost energy drinks were very helpful and kept some nutrition in me while it was hard to eat. Lots of water during meals is helpful.
Now that it’s been 2 months I can eat ANYTHING, even spicy foods...Read the full article

I'm really glad to hear your story, cuz man there are stories of things that go wrong, too many.
I'm 50 years old and I guess I've had this for some time but it is to a point that I can't live with any longer. Apparently this runs in my family, my gram on my Daddys side had it but her breast rupperted, they were so large that they hung down to her knees, poor soul, back then there was nothing that could be done for this. I too am expericening large breasts. Like my sister said, you were normal like us and then all the sudden, you're huge, which is true; however my stomach gets like I'm pregant, and I'm sick to my stomach All the time, I never feel good anymore, I get short of breath like right now, I have to sleep in a recliner, cause stuff comes up my throat and chokes me. I'm afraid I'm going to die in my sleep. I had some cereal and I laid down on the couch, fell asleep then I woke up my nose burning, choking, and coughing up this clear stuff, okay, so I propped my head up on the arm of the couch and went back to sleep, next thing I know I'm throwing up all over my self, My GOD! Also I had some alfredo, which I love, but I don't love it coming out of my nose, which happened, can't take this!

Another thing is it seems that the back of my throat is dropping, cuz I can feel it close and I snore really loud, I catch myself.

So I need to find a surgeon (s) to fix this herina and I need a breast reduction cause I can't carry these things around any longer. I'm a tall person but I've always been thin, my body hurts from carrying this weight.

I'm so unhappy, and can't go on like this anymore, at all! Where are you from & who did your surgery ?
I live in Pittsburgh, PA.
I've always been very active, and I miss my life, tired of being sick, can't breathe, can't do much of anything, too young at heart to be sick, tired of the pain in my back, from big breast, need to get fixed.

Thanks for your positive writing, it gives me hope.

she was home in three days. our friend next door had it done two years ago by him wishes he had had it done sooner
