i had open surgery for severe acid reflux in 1992 when i was 15. the operation was a success and although the scar is ugly i have never regretted having the procedure. i was unfortunate not to be able to have keyhole surgery at that time. the only problem i have incurred is discomfort in later stages of pregnancy and vomiting is particularly hard as i now tend to retch for ages instead....Read the full article

yes, I hate the retching, I don't recall the doctor mentioning not being able to vomit, but he also left some other details out. I think my doctor was a used car salesman before he was a doctor. He told me all the benefits of the surgeries, but left out alot of the bad things. I'm glad you haven't regretted the surgery.
