Deciding to have Nissan ProcedureHi,
I am scheduled to have the Nissan procedure and I trying to make a good decision as to wether to have it or not. I have been reading alot of the horror stories that have followed the operation but not a whole lot of the very satisfied stories. Please let me know if you are satisfied or why not so I may make the right decision. Thanks
Re: Deciding to have Nissan ProcedureHi! I truly understand your concerns. I too was skeptical but considering I was as high risk for esophogeal cancer, and I was sick of sleeping stitting straight upright, and sick of aspirating my stomach contents, I chose to have the surgery.
I am very happy that I chose to have this done and I'm 3 weeks post op today. My main problem is recurring nausea. I'm also having difficulty swallowing enough water to keep myself hydrated so I developed a urinary tract infection. Now I'm on an antibiotic for that which might be the cause of making me even more nauseated. I believe more people who have had successful outcomes are the least likely to have written on this site. Honestly, it's enough to scare one into not having the surgery just by reading some of these comments. Just take into consideration what is best for you and go from there. I personally am happy I had this done in spite of the minor inconvenience of the nausea and inability to burp. Mu surgeon was totally honest with me before the procedure and he did a wonderful job. Best of luck to you!!
