Toupee fundoplication/Zollinger-Ellison SyndromeIn November of 2006 I was diagnosed with zollinger-ellison syndrome which is a tiny tumor called a gastrinoma. If there is anyone out there who has this or has had this I would really like to hear from you because I have become so frustrated that they can't seem to find this tumor. They tell me it will only grow to the size of a pea but my gastrin level was 1,312 before my surgery. The surgeon performed a toupee fundoplication vagotomy, removed three suspicious lymph nodes which were benign. Needless to say he did not find the tumor or tumors. I'm still experiencing nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. I've lost 44lbs. My surgeon is now telling me the next step is to remove my stomach and keep doing scans until the gastrinoma can be seen. If the tumor is in a localized area where it can be removed then I would have to have surgery again even tough he says removing it would prolong my life expectancy. Soooo if there is anyone out there that has or is experiencing any of this I would really like to hear your feedback.
