Sphincterotomy

I had my surgery 5 days ago. I’ll go into more detail in another post on what a trip that was, but I’m going to stick with how I feel right now.
I can feel the stitches with every movement. Getting in and out of the car, rolling over in bed, walking, standing up, sitting down, laughing, sneezing, coughing, bending over… pretty much every time I move I can feel the stitches pull a little bit. I had a sphincterotomy done on May 27,2009 I have the same spasm that you are talking about. I thought that the pain was from the banding. Has you spasm stoped your do you now how long before they are going to stop? I also have a boulge on the side of my anul opening now that was not there before my surgery was just wondering if you have anything like this maybe from the truma of surgery. I don't have a follow up with my doctor until the 15th. But when I called and talk to his office they told me that it was normal. Just wondering if from the banding or from the spincterotomy.

I had a lateral spincherectomy and an internal and external hemrhoid removed on May 21. My proctologist told me the recovery would be rough and I would feel better in about 10 days. I have now been out of work for 12 days. It has been 19 days since my surgery. I went back to work on Monday but could not stay all day. It no longer hurts terribly to have a BM but it hurts for hours afterwards!!! I saw the doctor today and he said it's healing, but it's a 4-6 week recovery. I am so upset..... 4-6 weeks is way more than 10 days. I should have researched this more before actually going through with it. I know I needed the surgery, but I would have planned differently. My questions are: Are you having a lot of pain after BM? How long does it take before you stop having spasms after BM? How long does the drainage last? I work in a dentist office and sitting in a chair, leaning over patients, just isn't happening anytime soon. I am home sitting on a heating pad, taking hydrocodone. I have stopped the miralax. I am only doing stool softeners now. Yesterday I had 5 BM's in one day! It was like starting all over again with the pain. Can someone give me some encouraging news?!
