Can anyone help with these herniated disk symptoms? My wife has some terrible symptoms that relate to a herniated disk (L4). She feels an awful burning and extreme sensitivity in your left knee area. If anything touches her skin in this area it is very painful. We've found no relief in pain meds or therapy..she describes it as "like having her skin scraped off" kind of sensitivity that prevents her from sleeping, etc.
Any ideas out there? thanks! Sad hubby
Re: Can anyone help with these herniated disk symptoms? You might want to consider being seen at a multidisciplinary pain center, where specialists from different fields could try different therapy (medications, nerve blocks if necessary, supportive techniques). Medications can inlcude Neurontin, Amitriptyline, Topamax, Ultram, Lamictal and many others. It often takes time and a combination of medications and non-medication therapy to help. Good luck.

Re: Re: Can anyone help with these herniated disk symptoms?I have had the same problem I Have L5-S7 Ihad the epidural injections done a year ago. then was in an accident at work. There Dr said my back pain is now because my epidural just now wore off. I feel they wore off after my last one which was in Feb. How long do these work.
