herniated disc

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Dec 21, 2001 10:34 am

I'm a 33 year old female pharmacy technician at a local hospital. Part of my nightly duties include delivering the PYXIS. As the cencus has gone up so has the load on the cart for PYXIS. My lower back has been aching for months. A few days ago, the pain became pretty severe, radiating down into my legs all the way to my feet. Almost a burning sensation. After a couple of hours and an ice pack the ratiating went away but I still have pretty severe lower back pain. It hurts to sit, cough, and bend. It feels like it's more than just a muscle strain. Advil/tylenol/naproxen have not helped at all. I don't want to go to the doctor, because I always feel like I am just wasting his time. Any suggestions???? Thank you

Unfortunately it sounds like you should visit your doctor. It certainly is possible that you continue to have mechanical-soft tissue/muscular inflammation, but a careful exam and diagnostic tests may be necessary to provide the best treatment for you.
