lower back painI had 3 work related accidents in 1985, 1994 and 1995.As a result I am suffering on-going back pain-especially since fom the 1995 incidents.I've had a CT Lumbosacral Spine recently which shows some moderate or mild degenerative changes in L2/3 to LS1. also it shows a mild annular disc bulge and there is mention of minor marginal osteophytic lipping in both the upper and lowerlumbar regions. Could one or the combination of these incidents have caused or precipitated the conditions described above? I've tried everything in order to contain the pain, from taking anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication to physiotherapy and now to spinal manipulation at a chiropractor I've found the latter as being beneficial in reducing not only the pain but also helping to minimize the use of the medications prescribed to me as they caused me gastro-intestinal problems. In your opinion if this therapy is helping and there is no alternative, should I continue with it. By the way I am a 55 year old Language teacher who-apart rom the condition stated above-likes to stay fit and healthy.
I thank you for any help you may give me.
Re: lower back painBack pain can be a life-long problem for some indivbiduals. It moight be beneficial for you to see a neurologist or back pain specialist. so they can correlate the symptoms you are having with the exam findings. Physical therapy and deep soft tissue massage can be very helpful as well.
