myelogram complication

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Aug 14, 2001 11:39 am

I had a myelogram almost a year ago, and my back hasn't been the same since. The area they put the needle still hurts, and sometimes some muscles in my left thigh twitch, just like they did when the procedure was done. Is there anything I can do? Thanks for listening.

In most cases, a myelogram should not result in any long-term complications. Nerve roots can be injured by the procedure, and could result in painful syndromes down the leg as you describe. The area should be evaluated by your doctor; there are many medications available to treat neuropathic type pain that could be helpful to you.
