Need surgery, what to expect?

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Aug 06, 2001 7:02 pm

I had several MRI's over the weekend, had to keep going back so they could get a better picture. I have a growth, (most likely not cancerous) that is putting pressure on the nerve. This has been causing me to have neuropathy type symptoms for the past few years which is getting worse. Numbness in my toes, tripping, ect. My neurologist is sending me to a neurosurgeon this week and I will need surgery very soon. Has anyone had this type of surgery, for removal of a growth, not disks? I was wondering what was involved, how long I'd have to stay in the hospital and how long I'd be laid up after. I can't seem to find anyone who has had this problem on any message boards I've been to. Thanks.
