Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Apr 18, 2002 1:15 am

I am awaken about three to four times a night with my arms and hands, also sometime the whole right side of my body num. And on occassion my left side does the same.

I may be setting for a short time and I experiance numness in my wrist first and in no time my arms go to tingling some times my right side and on other occassions both arms.

I have had several injuries in the course of my life. The most resent, I feel out the door on to carport and broke my pelvis bone. I have been in two serious car ricks. On in 1970 with a injury to my forhead and again in 1986 I broke a rib after rolling my car down an inbankment.

I am in a great deal of pain that most of the time I taking advil to help cover up how much I am hurting.

Am I looking in the right direction?
Or shoud I ask is my doctor headed in the right directon?
I went to the doctor today and he is setting up an appointment with a neurologist. Is their any advise you can give me?

Seeing a neurologist sounds like a very good idea. The doctor will determine if you might have an underlying peripheral neuropathy or other neurological problem. In addition, pain medicaitons or other forms of therapy might be suggested. Be prepared to provide the doctor with a detailed history about your symptoms. Good luck.
