Reg: My Friend's (Spinal cord injury/Back Pain)

Hello, My friend is suffering from back pain yrs. She live in india re she went to lot of doctors...everyone suggested different kind of medication...like yoga,excerise,medicines surgery...she tried everything except surgery she is fearing se kind of surgery very risky may end up in severe pain even she may not be able to walk. Following test/Analysis result from doctors. --------------------- 25.12.95 Guest Hospital Dr Parthasarathy LUMBAR MYELOGRM;LYING ERECT LATERAL VIEW: SHOWS DISC PROLAPSE BETWEEN L5 S1. ADVICE:SURGERY ----------------------- 17.7.98 Dr Krishna Raman M.B.B.S,F.C.C.P L4L5S1 DISC PROLAPSE ADVICE:NO SURGERY TAUGHT ME SOME RAPEUTIC YOGA ---------------------------- PROF.M.SUBRAMANIAN L.S.SPINES(L3-S1) LAT-IN ERECTNEUTRAL) LAT-IN ERECT FLEXION TAUGHT ME SOME SIMPLE PHISIORAPY EXERCISES HAVE TAKEN AUCUPUNCTURE,AUYURVEDIC TREATMENTS ALSO.NOT ABLE TO SIT MORE THAN AN H.WHEN PAIN BECOMES SEVERE,I AM NOT ABLE TO WALK ALSO.PRACTICING YOGA REGULARLY STILL BEARABLE PAIN IS RE.IF I STRAIN TOO MUCH SITTING LONG TIME OR IF I TRAVEL PAIN BECOMES UNBEARABLE. --------------------------------------- I want to know we have to do as next step... if surgery is only...how do we go about it is risk involved in . I cannot advise on the specifics of your friends care, but suggest taht she see a neurologist. If she is having chronic pain, there are a number of medication options, if surgery is not thought to be appropriate.
